Road trips to the Coromandel are undeniably stunning, but keeping everyone entertained in the car before you reach your destination can sometimes be a challenge. To make your journey a bit more fun, we have the perfect solution to keep the “are we there yets?” at bay: Car Bingo!

There are two fantastic ways to play to keep the whole car entertained:

The Lucky Draw (Classic Bingo): Print the front calling sheet, cut the pieces along the lines, fold them in half, and place them into a bowl. A designated caller can then draw and read out the words one at a time until someone yells BINGO!

In the Wild (Spotter’s Bingo): Ditch the bowl and simply look out the window! Hand a bingo card to each passenger and have them mark off the items as they spot them in real life on the way to or around the Coromandel.
If you choose to play “in the wild,” the bingo cards are packed with classic Kiwi sights and specific Coromandel gems. Keep your eyes peeled for marine sights like a “Mussel Buoy”, “Dolphins”, or the beautiful “Hauraki Gulf”. You will also need to roll down the windows and use your ears to “Hear a Tui”!
Navigating the local routes becomes part of the fun as you watch out for road features like a “One way Bridge”, a “Gravel Road”, or the famous “309 Road”. Don’t forget to look for sweet treats like a “TipTop Ice Cream Sign”, or everyday sights like a “Pohutakawa Tree”, a “Cow”, and a “Suzuki Swift”.
